Hundreds of drones create synchronised formations over Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road
DUBAI – Dubai’s Global Village lit up the night sky on Friday with what organisers described as the biggest drone show of Season 30.
The spectacle unfolded at 7.15pm, instantly drawing crowds across the park and along Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road. Hundreds of synchronised drones formed glowing patterns overhead, turning the evening into one of the most visually striking moments of the season so far.
Promoted as a larger and more ambitious display than earlier shows this season, the aerial performance quickly became a major talking point on social media. Visitors paused mid-walk to film the sky as illuminated shapes moved seamlessly above the park, adding a dramatic layer to Global Village’s already busy Friday atmosphere.
Global Village Season 30
Now in its 30th season, Global Village brings together more than 90 cultures across 30 pavilions, with millions of visitors attending every winter.
Friday’s drone show added a fresh highlight to an evening that already featured packed walkways, live performances and bustling food streets. Families and groups gathered early to secure clear views, making the display a natural focal point of the night.
Global Village’s Season 30 runs until May 10, 2026, meaning visitors still have several months to experience its wide mix of entertainment, shopping and cultural showcases. Events such as the drone show continue to underline the destination’s role as one of Dubai’s most popular winter attractions.
What’s inside
Beyond the aerial display, the park offers more than 3,500 shops selling crafts, souvenirs and speciality products from around the world. Live stage performances and roaming street entertainers operate throughout the evening, while global street food outlets stretch across the venue, creating what many visitors treat as a tasting tour. Fireworks and cultural shows are also scheduled regularly during the season.
Visitor details
Entry tickets are priced at Dh25 on weekdays from Sunday to Thursday, and Dh30 on weekends and public holidays. Children under three, seniors over 65 and people of determination receive free entry. Opening hours run from 4pm to midnight from Sunday to Wednesday, and from 4pm to 1am from Thursday to Saturday, with Tuesdays reserved for ladies and families unless it is a public holiday.
Key pavilions
Visitors continue to flock to popular pavilions such as Japan and Korea for pop culture items and skincare, while India remains a hub for handicrafts, textiles and live music. Africa features woodcraft and tribal art, Turkey and Egypt highlight decorative items and brassware, and Yemen and Saudi Arabia are known for honey, dates and spices, with Asian Boulevard adding another major shopping stretch.
